Miracast is a standard for wireless connections from sending devices to display receivers mainly using Wi-Fi Direct.

Implementations

  • GNOME Network Displays — GTK application to cast your desktop to a remote display. Currently implemented is support for casting to Wi-Fi Display capable devices (a.k.a. Miracast).

Note: Despite having GNOME in the name, it works on any desktop environment. However, do note that it requires pipewire in order to function.
  • MiracleCast — Command line tools to connect external monitors to your system via Wi-Fi Display specification also known as Miracast.

Wifi P2P Support

Detect whether your device support Miracast:

  • iw phy should display P2P-Client under the Supported interface modes section.
  • iw dev should display a P2P-device.
